day 5 post-op

i woke up with this darn stomach ache again. I'm not sure if its the anesthetic still or if its the antibiotics i am on, but i have never had a stomach ache that has lasted this long and was this uncomfortable. i woke up on the wrong side of the love seat unfortunately which I'm sure made the day great for everyone... not! Brandon made me another delicious smoothie for breakfast which consisted of orange juice, yogurt, a splash of acai juice, strawberries and liquid calcium. i sure hope this will help heal me in no time! mom came out and spent the afternoon with me to give Brandon some time away and time to himself. mom rubbed my feet (ahhhh, bliss) and helped me calm down and sort of meditate to relax and focus on healing. sometimes a girl just needs her mama (this seems to happen for me more often than not J ). mom and i had a great afternoon and Brandon came home with a new couch and love seat which are absolutely perfect and sooooo comfortable! the old ones smelled quite violently of cat urine. he found a great deal on the new ones so everyone was happy! mom had to leave me (boo) so she went into town and Brandon  tucked me in for a little nap that ended up being about 2 hours. i think napping is the best thing for me and i should do it more often. i did notice that i clenched my jaw or something when i was startled in my sleep and that did not feel nice. i can feel my muscles trying to work against the wires but it is all good. these wires are super strong and should hold everything in place. anyone else who is thinking about getting this surgery, make sure that you brush and use your antiseptic rinse every time you eat. (3 times a day). it feels amazing. i have noticed that since i don’t have feeling in my mouth or chin or what not that toothpaste gets stuck along my braces and gums. if i notice this, i sometimes grab a tissue and try and wipe it off or get my child sized toothbrush and just try and rinse it away. also one side of my face is more swollen and bruised than the other. they must have had to do more work on that side i imagine. i am also starting to get black eyes just slightly so far. we will see how it is in the morning. also my eyes water for some strange reason... must be the nerves up there too because i imagine my whole face is going to be pretty sore. they put Vaseline or something all over my face in the hospital and i don’t think i got all of that quite washed off of my face because i cant feel it! with time! for tonight i am going to relax more on the new couch with Brandon and watch billy Madison (if i don’t fall asleep) and perhaps some Saturday night live to get my spirits back up.
